I am excited to share the news that in October I became one of the first instructors certified to teach the Camp PMC Certification Classes. I have scheduled several sessions for early 2020 that are listed in the workshop section of my website.
Camp PMC Certification Course 101 was designed as a two day class teaching the fundamental skills, techniques and best practices for working with PMC. In the 5 different projects, the student learns to roll, cut, carve, sculpt, mold, set stones, combine elements, incorporate embeddables, torch fire, program a kiln, etc. In doing these projects (earrings with a fire in place stone, a double textured pendant with syringe detail, wrapped beads, a sculpted toggle clasp and a wrapped ring with a fire in place stone) the student receives and learns how and when best to use 20g of PMC3, 25g of PMC OneFire 950, 5g of PMC Flex and a 9g PMC3 Syringe of clay. Students also receive an extensive manual of project information and general PMC information, stones, embeddable findings and ear wires and have use of all materials and tools to complete the projects. A great variety of skills are taught and both experienced and new PMC users can be successful. Upon successful completion of the class (projects, lecture time and written test), the student will receive an 8% discount on future purchases of PMC through Rio Grande and Clay Revolution. The course is sponsored by Mitsubishi Materials Corporation, Rio Grande, Clay Revolution and Sawtooth School for Visual Art. This course is $350 total which includes everything!
